It's about time

to post new pictures. Unfortunately (for me), I will not be able to find time to summarize all that happened after my last post about the Japan Relief, but I will share a few things/events that occured in our student-family life and it is not going to be in chronological order.

Just last Sunday we gave Simona (my cat) away to a very nice family. I had, all of the sudden, developed a very bad allergy to her - whenever Simona came near me, my eyes began burning and itching, I would gasp for air and all the other fun allergy symptoms. That is why I had to say goodbye to my dear kitty. Although Asher was never a big fan of Simona from the start (beginning on the day we got her until we gave her away, he suggested various ways and reasons to get rid of her), even he was a little sad that she was suddenly gone (I think). Good bye, Simona. The Jones' family will miss you.

Настало время снова выставить фотографии и написать немного про нашу жизнь. В прошлое воскресенье мы отдали нашу кошку Симону хорошим людям. У меня неожиданно появилась сильная аллергическая реакция к ней. Когда Симона подходила ко мне, мне становилось плохо - трудно дышать, боль в глазах и т.д. Вот поэтому пришлось расстаться с кошечкой. Пока, Симона.

By looking at the calendar I just realized that Anastasia will turn 2 years old in two months! She is a lovely, beautiful lady that likes to do things her own way. I know she will be able to talk when she decides that she wants to. For example, I once approached her and said, "Anastasia, say mama" (yes, these are the words we were working on not too long ago), she would respond, "mama", say "papa". She said "papa", say "ball" - Anastasia responded by proudly lifting her head and saying, "No!" However, the next day I heard her asking Pavil at the playground if he wanted to go down the slide (pretty clearly). This is just an example of how stubborn she can be. She loves to count, sing songs, and she makes us smile every day.
Pavil is 3.5 years old now and started his preschool that we organized with some friends from the ward, and he loves going there. The class consists of 4-5 year old boys and girls, so he is the youngest there. I hope that he will be able to finally sit still and follow instructions. About sitting still...after looking at the different pictures of my kids, my cousin asked if Pavil were able to walk at all and not run. The answer is "Yes, he can walk but prefers to run all the time". It is a good thing since I need a good workout. Whenever I hug and kiss Pavil, he smiles and says, "Okay, that's enough, that's enough. I will scratch your kiss now".

Анастейже исполнится 2 года через 2 месяца. Она любит делать все по-своему. Я уверена, что она заговорит сразу, как только захочет. Например, не так давно я спросила:"Анастейжа, скажи мама", Анастейжа сказала "мама", "скажи папа", она сказала "папа", "скажи мячик", на это Анастейжа ответила, задрав нос к верху: "Нет!" На следующий день в парке я слышала, как она спрашивала у Павлика, собирается ли тот скатиться с горки (и причем очень четко). Это небольшой пример того, какая упрямая девочка растет. :) Анастейжа любит считать до десяти, петь песни и веселит нас каждый день.
Павил уже большой парень - 3.5 года. Он начал пришкольную программу, которую мы с подружками организовали. Ему очень там нравится. Он ходит в класс с девочками и мальчиками, которые на год его старше. Я надеюсь, что он научится сидеть спокойно. Оля, (да моя сестра), ответ на твой вопрос, умеет ли Павил ходить пешком, а не бегать, - "умеет, но предпочитает бегать все время". Меня это устраивает - хорошая ежедневная зарядка для меня. Когда я обнимаю и целую Павлика, он улыбается и, убегая от меня, говорит: " Достаточно, достаточно. Я теперь сотру твой поцелуй". Мы его любим.

Asher did not get a break this summer but we made it really fun anyways with the little time we did have together as a family. I have always dreamed of going to Nauvoo and learning more of the history of the church. We went there for a weekend in June. Seeing where the saints lived and learning what great things they have done and how much they sacrificed because of their incredible faith in God made me want to be a better person. It was a very spiritual experience.

У Ашера не было каникул этим летом, но мы все-таки смогли поехать на небольшое путешествие всей семьей. У меня давно была мечта поехать в город Наву в штате Иллиной и узнать больше об истории Церкви Иисуса Христа Святых Последних Дней. Мы ездили туда в июне. Нам очень понравилась наша поездка.

We have been enjoying very much our time together as a family during these holidays. Pavil and Asher are especially too happy and goofy when they play together. :)

Во время зимних каникул мы провели много времени вместе. Павел и Ашер веселились по-своему - строили рожицы и играли вместе. Меня это очень радовало, так как Ашер начинает учебу снова и будет очень занят.

Isaac, Moung and baby Isaac came to visit for Christmas. We went downtown with them.

Айзек, Монг и их сын Айзек приезжали к нам на Рождество. Мы всеми гуляли в центре города.

Anastasia loves walking outside a lot.

I baked (or shall I say burnt) a Gingerbread house and Asher and Pavil decorated it.

Я испекла (точнее сказать, сожгла в духовке) такой домик из печенья, а Ашер и Павел украсили его конфетами.

On Christmas Eve we have a tradition to take a walk outside, play in the snow and look at the houses that people decorated with lights. It snowed a lot that day and it was beautiful!

На канун Рождества у нас в семье есть традиция. После ужина мы идем на прогулку, играем на снегу и смотрим на соседские дома, украшенные гирляндами. В тот день выпало много снега и было очень красиво!

Pavil lost one of his gloves so he had to wear Anastasia's. :)

Павел потерял свою перчатку и ему пришлось носить варежку Анастейжи. :)

One of our very favorite cakes became this Russian cake called Napoleon. Asher wanted to learn to make it and this was his cute little cake that he made for Anastasia!

Наполеон - один из наших самых любимых тортов. Ашер захотел научиться печь этот торт, и у него получился вот такой симпатичный тортик для дочки!

Independence Day

We had a cookout at Independence Grove on 4th of July. I made this hair bow for Anastasia that day.

На День Независимости Америки мы ездили на шашлыки в парк. Я сделала такой бантик или заколку для Анастейжи в тот день.

Since the weather has been very nice lately, we spend a lot of time at different beaches.

Так как погода нас балует часто в последнее время, мы много времени проводим на разных пляжах.

LAMB'S FARM

They let Pavil pet the animals at the Lamb's Farm. It was pretty cool. One sheep tried to headbutt Pavil. The attack was apparently provoked. :) Asher caught Pavil on video trying to kick the sheep.

На ферме Ламы Павлику разрешили погладить животных. Одна овца начала бодать Павлика. Атака, конечно, была спровоцирована. :) Ашер записал на видео, как Павел хотел толкнуть эту овцу ногой.

It seems that whenever we visit places we always find some train for Pavil to ride. :) Lamb's Farm had it too. It was a pretty long and beautiful ride. These are the times when I really appreciate having children so I can also enjoy the rides! :)

Кажется, что, куда бы мы ни пошли, мы всегда находим паровозик для Павлика. Паровоз был на этой ферме тоже. :) Это была замечательная эксурсия для детей. Вот тогда я действительно благодарна за то, что у меня есть дети, когда мне можно прокатиться на таких поездах снова как в детстве :).
